
Facilities Operations Director

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance and facilities management requirements at our resort.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal property performance by identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance as required across the property, including electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services, and approved contractor works.
- Supervise and manage key service areas, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing teams, to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) best practices at all times, conducting regular safety audits and providing training to team members as needed.
- Oversee stock control and supplier management for efficient operations, negotiating contracts with suppliers and managing inventory levels.
- Prepare quotes, schedule, and manage Capital Expenditure (Capex) requests, working closely with the Hotel Manager to prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively.
- Support the Hotel Manager in recruiting and developing the Maintenance department team, providing guidance and mentorship to new team members.
- Previous hands-on experience in maintenance/facilities management, preferably in a hotel environment, with a strong understanding of building systems and maintenance procedures.
- Proven ability to manage and develop team members, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results-oriented projects.
- Experience implementing a preventative maintenance program, with a focus on reducing downtime and increasing asset lifespan.
- Experience organizing, consulting, and negotiating with contractors, with a strong understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
- Sound MS Office skills, including Excel spreadsheets and word documents, with experience creating reports and presentations.
- A passion for delivering exceptional, proactive service, with a customer-centric approach and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with impeccable presentation and professionalism.
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, with some on-call work on weekends, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Building qualification highly regarded, but not essential.
