About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Officer to join our team in the Transport Policy Branch. As a Policy Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of freight policy in NSW.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement policy initiatives that support the safe, productive, and sustainable movement of goods.

You will be responsible for researching and analyzing complex policy issues, identifying emerging trends, and developing evidence-based options to resolve problems and mitigate risks.

With a strong understanding of freight and transport policy, you will work collaboratively with industry stakeholders to identify needs, address gaps, and develop policy options and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policy initiatives related to freight and transport
  • Research and analyze complex policy issues to inform evidence-based decision-making
  • Work with stakeholders to identify needs, address gaps, and develop policy options and solutions
  • Contribute to the development of policy commitments that support objectives and advocate for freight interests
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver policy commitments and achieve outcomes
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who is passionate about freight and transport policy. You will have a strong understanding of policy development and implementation, as well as excellent written communication skills.

You will be proactive, able to work collaboratively across the team, and have a strong ability to analyze complex information and develop evidence-based options.

Some experience within a policy role in government is desirable, along with relevant tertiary qualifications.
