Job Details:

We are seeking a senior specialist to lead our Mine Waste Engineering team.

About the Opportunity:

This is a national leadership role, managing and growing a highly experienced team of 10+ consultants across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing activities in Mine Waste Engineering to ensure successful project delivery and sustainable business performance.
  • Managing group financial performance through resource management with the Engineering & Design group administration team and other technical discipline managers within the Engineering & Design service line.
  • Developing, facilitating, and enhancing relationships between internal and external clients and SLR team members.
  • Contributing to winning work by identifying and converting opportunities and drawing on existing client relationships.
  • Providing advice and assistance to internal and external clients, team members, and Project Managers regarding best practices.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience, including experience within a consultancy group, with tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical/Civil/Mining Engineering.
  • Experience managing teams of consultants across different geographies and project experience across multiple states.
  • Ability to plan and deliver geotechnical site investigations for tailings projects with demonstrated experience in the interpretation of field and laboratory testing of tailings, soils, and rock, and slope stability assessments.
  • In-depth understanding of local and global tailings standards and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, technical report writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior staff, managing large multidisciplinary projects, and contributing to regional business planning.
