About This OpportunityWe are seeking a Casual Sessional Teacher to join our team at RMIT University. As a Casual Sessional Teacher, you will be mainly responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and supervising students enrolled in selected courses within the program.
You will participate in the program's continuing review of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment. Your performance will be underpinned by participation in relevant activities which ensure your vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, relevant to teaching and consultancy environments.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.
- Experience in competency-based assessment.
- Skill in diagnosing learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A qualification in the TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its equivalent; or higher-level qualification in adult education.
- Current industry experience within the Community services sector.
- Demonstrated experience of teaching in Vocational Education is desirable.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
A proven track record of delivering high-quality training programs, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
A commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practice in vocational education and training.
An estimated salary of $60-$80 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
