Key Job Responsibilities

As a Theatre Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the surgical team providing high-quality patient care before, during and after surgical procedures.

  • Assist in preparing operating rooms for surgical procedures ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
  • Provide compassionate pre-operative care to patients addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort.
  • Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures anticipating and responding to their needs and assisting the surgical team as required.
  • Administer medications and anaesthesia under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
