**About the Role**
This exciting new senior leadership position has been created to support increasing growth in theatre utilisation at Northern Beaches Hospital. This new role will drive and lead the operational delivery of exceptional, best practice care to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and an industry leading patient experience in the Perioperative Department. Operational efficiency and excellence with a focus on Theatre Utilisation - scheduling, adhoc bookings; Patient Flow and Access; Recruitment and Retention; Equipment and Material Resource Management
The Interventional Suite has 14 state-of-the-art operating theatres including a hybrid theatre & a cardiothoracic theatre; 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs; 4 Procedure Rooms; 41 bed Recovery Unit; Anaesthetics Service and state of the art Sterilising Services Department.
As the Deputy theatre Manager, you will make an impact to the Perioperative services by working closely with other Perioperative NUMs and Clinical Coordinators to ensure the patient journey is smooth and efficient. Actively predict and assist in any obstacles to patient flow. Work in partnership with the Perioperative Services Manager, assist and support recruitment related to Perioperative Services. Support future workforce planning, monitor and manage FTE vacancies.
An experienced leader with a passion for developing talent within the team, you will also possess the following skills and attributes:
- Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Post graduate qualification in Perioperative services
- Post graduate qualification in leadership or management (or willingness to undertake)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in perioperative services
- Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite with 10 or more theatres undertaking complex surgical procedures
- Recent experience managing a department (including acting)
- Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- High level of planning and organising skills
- Well-developed oral and written communication
- High degree of computer literacy
- Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded

If successful. you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives’ - Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024, a salary of $67.18 per hour.
