Senior Counsel, Product Role

We are seeking a confident and self-motivated lawyer to join our growing Legal team. As Senior Counsel, Product, you will play a crucial role in providing legal review and guidance on new and existing product offerings and platform features.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Product and Feature Review: Conduct legal assessments of new and existing product offerings and features, delivering concise, actionable and business-friendly advice to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Policy Development and Maintenance: Update and maintain company policies, terms of use and other legal documents to align with evolving laws, regulations and industry standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Support product managers, engineers, marketing teams and other stakeholders to understand product visions and offer legal insights from ideation through deployment in close collaboration with other subject matter experts such as tax, finance and specialist counsels within the Legal team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Proactively monitor and analyze changes in e-commerce and technology laws and regulations, advise on product strategy and lead regulatory change management projects.
  • Legal Support: Offer general legal support related to product development, including drafting and negotiating agreements with partners and vendors, as well as product-related terms and conditions.

Requirements:

  • A highly motivated technology lawyer who is able to understand complex products, ideally with knowledge of law in the travel sector and/or a passion for travel.
  • Proactive and practical, adding value by creating pragmatic and strategic solutions to legal issues.
  • A team player with strong ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and across cultures.
  • 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, ideally a mix of international in-house and reputable law firm experience. Experience in common law jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Law Degree/Juris Doctor.
  • Strong commercial outlook and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Good knowledge of consumer protection law and technology-related regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong sense of ownership, and enthusiasm for technology.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations and perform well under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in risk management and the ability to approach problems with a practical and strategic mindset.
