Job Title: Workplace Health and Safety Manager

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving regional health and safety strategies that protect personnel, safeguard company assets and support business growth. This role involves designing forward-thinking, risk-based workplace health and safety programs while ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and manage region-wide, best practice forward-looking workplace health and safety programs aligned to the company's business goals, values and compliance obligations.
  • Develop and promote a culture of proactive risk identification, prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with global workplace health and safety leaders to align regional initiatives with global strategies and frameworks.
  • Provide expert workplace health and safety support for major capital and operational projects across the region, from bid to delivery.
  • Ensure safety management systems and controls are embedded into project lifecycle planning.
  • Conduct safety reviews, audits and readiness assessments to de-risk project delivery and meet customer and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regional legislation, industry standards and client workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and implement control measures.
  • Maintain and review workplace health and safety registers (e.g. psychosocial, hazardous materials, contractor compliance) and drive timely mitigation of identified risks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will typically require a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a tertiary safety qualification. They must have demonstrated capacity for independent judgment on complex issues and a talent for conceptual thinking. Additionally, they should have a proven track record of creating organizational objectives and principles that achieve measurable results.
