Care and Support Professional


About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced care and support professional to join our team in Charlestown, Newcastle. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide in-home care and assist participants with daily tasks such as meal preparation, personal care, and medication administration.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care and support to participants with disabilities, empowering them to achieve their personal goals and maintain independence.
  • Support with domestic duties to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.

Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience in the disability sector.
  • Experience working with clients with dementia and behaviors of concern is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with mobility aids and hoists is required.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certificates.
  • A Certificate III in Disability (or similar) or higher.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build meaningful connections with participants.
  • Commitment to person-centered practices, advocating for autonomy and well-being.
