Dedicated Virtual Healthcare Professionals Sought

We are looking for skilled and compassionate individuals to join our team of virtual healthcare clinicians. As a vital member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting Australians with their health concerns through the Healthdirect Helpline.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert health information and assessing symptoms over the phone.
  • Conducting comprehensive telephone assessments to determine the best course of action for callers.
  • Recommending appropriate time and place of care, ensuring that callers receive timely and effective support.
  • Referring callers to other services such as the GP Helpline, Urgent Care Clinics, and Virtual Emergency Departments when necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, applying critical thinking and clinical judgment to ensure optimal outcomes for callers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with compassion and professionalism.
  • A strong affinity for using computer systems, including telehealth platforms, databases, and digital communication tools.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work varied shifts and adjust to changing circumstances as needed.
