Work Health and Safety Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Work Health and Safety Compliance Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about ensuring a safe physical and psychological working environment.

About the Role

This is a 12-month maximum term position, reporting directly to the Senior WHS Manager. As a Work Health and Safety Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for aligning with our WHS management system and working closely with other teams to ensure daily application of our safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain our corporate safety system to ensure site WHS compliance.
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessments, and risk control.
  • Support incident and injury reporting and conduct investigations.
  • Ensure Injury Management protocols are supported on site and vessel.
  • Assist site leadership in achieving a safe work environment.
  • Effectively manage contractors.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Cert IV in WHS or greater.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Aquaculture experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to understand competing priorities and find balanced solutions.
  • High-level communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Attention to detail with a general understanding of WH&S matters.
