Senior Mine Planning Engineer Opportunity

About Us: We are a specialist advisory firm to the mining and resources sector across the world.

Our service delivery is across mine advisory, feasibility and mine optimisation studies, engineering and asset management, project services, safety, health & risk, and decarbonisation.

About the position: Due to continued growth in our Mine Optimisation and Advisory team, we are searching for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer.

This role can be based from our Newcastle, Brisbane or Wollongong offices.

You will work as a key part of an integrated team with other like-minded individuals who are focused on being the best mining professionals in the industry.

You will be challenged with a range of complex projects that require unique solutions that add value to our clients' operations.

About You: You will have a strong understanding of underground mine planning, mine design and mine scheduling, which you will use to lead the successful execution of projects for our valued clients.

You will have a minimum of 3-5 years operational experience in underground coal mines, along with short, medium and long term mine planning and mine studies (i.e. Concept, Pre-feasibility and Feasibility).

Understanding the importance of managing client relationships and expectations is a must to be effective in the role.

From your depth of experience, you will have a strong professional network.

You will stand out from the rest if you have an understanding of study management, financial evaluations and/or trade off studies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (BE Mining)
  • Additional qualifications in finance or business would be highly regarded
  • Proficient in the use of mine planning software (i.e. Deswik, XPAC, Minex)
