About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Integrated Water Cycle Engineer to lead our flood risk management program. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for undertaking flood studies, advising on flood management, emergency response, and mitigation works. You will also manage our Flash Flood Alert System, ground water, and sea level rise monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, appraisal, and implementation of flood studies and flood risk management investigations.
  • Provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders and the community regarding flood risk and water cycle management.
  • Project manage and lead the technical working group overseeing the Hexham and Woodberry Swamp Flood Study.
  • Review and upgrade our Flash Flood Alert System against current best practice.
  • Facilitate Executive Management, Councillor, and community awareness of flood risk management outcomes.
  • Investigate opportunities for community engagement and education on flood risk.
  • Support flood risk emergency management and develop the water-sensitive cities action plan.
