Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team as Environmental Services Assistants. These permanent part-time positions offer a 7-day rotating roster, providing an opportunity for work-life balance and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in operating theatres to ensure patient care aligns with hospital values.
  • Clean, restock and store equipment used on shifts in appropriate storage areas to promote efficient workflow.
  • Uphold infection control standards by adhering to standard protocols and additional precautions to maintain a safe environment.
  • Dispose of soiled general and clinical waste according to established procedures to prevent contamination.
  • Work in a friendly and supportive manner at all times to foster a positive team culture.
  • Maintain effective communication with nursing staff and stakeholders to support quality clinical outcomes.
  • Report to the Hotel Services Manager and work collaboratively with the Department Manager, Team and Shift Leaders to ensure seamless integration of services.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Punctuality and reliability are essential for success in this role. Genuine customer service skills are also crucial.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment is advantageous but not mandatory. However, the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations is vital.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences are required.
  • Compliance with Workplace Health and Safety and Infection Control policies is imperative for maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Experience in cleaning services or a related field is desirable.
  • The ability to work effectively in a large team, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork, is essential.
  • A keen eye for detail and pride in work are necessary to ensure high-quality results.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while following instructions and infection prevention controls are critical for success in this role.
  • Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster is required.
