Environment Communications Role

Description

The role of Environment Communications Officer is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by developing and implementing effective communication strategies for environmental initiatives. This position will work closely with various teams to create engaging content and campaigns that raise awareness about important environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement targeted communications plans aligned with Council's environmental priorities.
  • Create compelling content for web, social media, and print platforms that brings environmental initiatives to life.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive community participation and engagement.
  • Support media relations and contribute to Council's broader communications efforts.
  • Analyse engagement data and prepare reports to inform strategy and decision-making.

Requirements

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft clear and engaging messages that resonate with diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid experience and/or a relevant degree in communications, engagement, or environmental storytelling.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Digital content creation expertise, including photography and video production, to bring environmental initiatives to life.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration effectively across teams and building meaningful relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and project management abilities, allowing juggling multiple priorities and delivering impactful campaigns.
