Job Description:

The Director of Accounting oversees all financial activities, developing and monitoring control systems to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the accounting team, managing functions such as general accounting, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, cash management, accounts payable and payroll
  • Direct the month-end close process for timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial information, including preparation of financial statements
  • Maintain robust internal controls and safeguards to protect company assets, reviewing accounting records for accuracy
  • Oversee financial, project/program and grants accounting, ensuring expenditures align with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and/or Master's Degree is preferred
  • At least 10 years progressive accounting and financial experience, with 5-7 years in a management role; preferable in a nonprofit or related industry
