At the Law Society of New South Wales, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Policy Advisor for Access to Justice. This role will lead our advocacy work, providing high-level legal policy advice to our senior management team.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in legal policy at a senior level. You will be responsible for managing the operations of our Access to Justice Department, which supports referral, information, and legal assistance services to the community and solicitors in NSW.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write reports, recommendations, briefing papers, and speeches in a clear and concise manner. You will also have the ability to think outside the square, develop new ways of looking at current issues, and take a long-term perspective when making strategic decisions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must be eligible to hold a NSW practising certificate. You should also have proven management and leadership abilities, knowledge of budgeting processes, and experience in effective resource management. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate high-level interpersonal and influencing skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will participate in our Senior Management Group and contribute to the development and implementation of our Strategic Plan. You will also manage budget expenditure and establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
