Ampersand International is a leading organisation in the field of cyber security, seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Cyber Security to join our team.

Salary: Up to $120/hour inclusive of super, with a base rate of $90 - $107.75/hour + super.

Job Description: As a Senior Advisor, Cyber Advisory, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and technical knowledge within the cyber advisory section. Your role will support the administration and operational aspects of security policies and cybersecurity initiatives by applying your in-depth understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise within the Security Compliance team, Digital Group, focusing on security compliance and advisory services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies and standards to ensure adherence to legislative requirements and good practice.
  • Draft Security Architecture reviews and cyber assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to information security.
  • Draft compliance reporting activities including Essential Eight (E8), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) reporting, and development of security documentation (SSP, SRMP).
  • Conduct regular cyber risk assessments and maintain the cyber risk register to proactively address potential issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats and trends and implement appropriate measures to address them.

About You

  • You have a strong understanding of frameworks like ISO 27001 (international security standard), PSPF (government security policy), and the Essential Eight (cybersecurity strategies).
  • You demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of cyber frameworks, legislation, policies, and procedures to guide the team effectively.
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
  • You exhibit a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks, ensuring that the organisation's information assets are protected.
  • You commit to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
  • You must have or be able to obtain baseline clearance.
