About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safety Specialist to join our team at Hancock Agriculture. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, you will play a pivotal role in leading our safety management system and promoting a culture of safety excellence throughout our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective safety strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the HSE team to facilitate a robust safety management system, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers and their teams to promote a safety-first culture and provide guidance on safety best practices.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for enhanced safety measures.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with industry peers to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in safety management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior safety role, preferably in the agricultural or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex safety data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
