Current Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, this role will provide guidance, support, and solutions to the wider team on matters related to safety and systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards, with the ability to apply contemporary knowledge to effectively assess and interpret information.

This role will involve providing advice to leaders on matters including site audits, inspections, H&S systems, and incidents. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining H&S data integrity, leading and lag indicators, and compiling relevant reports. Additionally, they will assist in the risk management process, supporting risk assessment work as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Health and Safety Team in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
  • Apply strong planning, coordination, and attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Maintain H&S data integrity, lead and lag indicators, and compile relevant reports
  • Assist in the risk management process, supporting risk assessment work as required
  • Maintain management system integrity
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships and communication interfaces with all functional teams
  • Support other functional teams as required to ensure a successful result for Senex Energy Limited
About You

We are looking for a results-oriented individual with a high level of attention to detail and strong administrative skills. The successful candidate will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels. They will also have a strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles and practices, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a CSG or Construction/ Mining HSE position or equivalent.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, with qualifications in Internal Auditor (Safety or Quality) and Incident Investigation (ICAM/TAPROOT or similar) being highly desirable. They will also have excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt style and content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
