We are seeking a skilled Product Innovation Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative packaging solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technical innovation and cost reduction. You will provide technical expertise, support, and training to teams across Australia, and work with customers to scope, develop, and implement packaging solutions from concept to commercial supply.

The key focus of this role will be to:

  • Identify opportunities to unlock value and reduce costs through technical innovation
  • Provide technical expertise, support, and training to teams across Australia
  • Support the sales team with technical insights during customer tender process
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and opportunities to enhance Opal products, knowledge, and industry innovations and developments

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in engineering or similar, or relevant technical expertise in the packaging industry
  • Previous experience within packaging, preferably as a packaging engineer, designer, or technician
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet with customers to discuss technical and design solutions
  • Plenty of energy and enthusiasm, curiosity, and appetite for learning
