About the Role
As a Youth Officer with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of young people in custody. This challenging yet rewarding position requires an individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and working with young people in secure residential units, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. You will also be required to respond to challenging situations, maintain a safe and secure environment, and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be working within a team environment, so strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential. Additionally, you must be willing to facilitate and participate in programs designed to develop the skills of young people.
The department offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $65,000 per annum, plus superannuation. As a valued member of our team, you will also have access to a range of benefits, including flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
