About the Role

We're seeking an exceptional Electrical Systems Design Lead to join our Power Transmission Lines and Substations design group in Sydney, Australia. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-voltage substation primary systems from concept to detailed design.

In this role, you will lead and manage a team of engineers and designers, overseeing projects from start to finish and ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will also collaborate with clients to define project scopes, prepare design reports, and review power system calculations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HV substation designs at transmission voltage levels, with a strong understanding of industry standards and codes in Australia. A degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering is essential, with Chartership highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver HV substation primary systems from concept to detailed design
  • Prepare and review design reports and power system calculations
  • Collaborate with clients to define project scopes
  • Manage teams of engineers and designers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Apply electrical engineering expertise to complex projects and act as reviewer or approver of engineering reports and designs
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in HV substation designs at transmission voltage levels
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and codes in Australia
  • Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (Masters preferred)
  • Chartership highly desirable
