Job Description

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing tailored support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plans.
  2. Assisting with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  3. Offering transportation assistance to clients.
  4. Providing respite care to clients and their families.
  5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
  6. Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
  7. Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  8. Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
  2. Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
  3. Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities.
  4. Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
  5. A strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
  6. An understanding of health and safety regulations.
  7. The ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding different support needs based on abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
  8. Basic care and first aid skills.
  9. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
