This role offers a unique opportunity to empower communities and drive positive change. As a Community Capacity Builder, you will play a vital part in developing and implementing initiatives that foster strong partnerships and address service gaps.
Key Responsibilities- Create and execute community capacity building programs aligned with the NDIS's ILC Policy Framework and Partners in the Community Deed.
- Build meaningful relationships with local organisations, government agencies, and diverse community groups.
- Conduct thorough community assessments to identify areas of need and opportunity.
- Collaborate with individuals with disability and their families to co-design initiatives that meet their unique needs.
- Engage with priority groups such as First Nations, CALD, LGBTIQA+SB, and rural/remote communities.
- Establish and track measurable outcomes for initiatives.
- E nsure compliance with relevant systems and frameworks.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement and regional service planning.
- Support Local Area Coordinators (LAC) teams in embedding community capacity building throughout their work.
- Proven experience in community development and/or capacity building with tangible outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of the NDIS, disability sector, ILC Policy Framework, and PitC program.
- Able to build genuine partnerships and co-design with individuals with a disability.
- Experience in project planning, performance measurement, and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of organisational and self-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a community-based setting.
- Strong commitment to inclusion, diversity, and accessibility.
- Experience managing community events.

Preferred Qualifications- Tertiary qualification in community development, social work, or related field.
- Access to reliable transportation for local travel.
- NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Valid Australian Working Rights.
- Lived experience of disability is highly valued.
