About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Therapeutic Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide trauma-informed therapeutic interventions and counseling to children and young people affected by domestic and family violence.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver trauma-informed counseling and group work interventions.
- Support carers of child witnesses through advocacy and information sharing.
- Engage in safety planning and crisis response as part of an integrated DFV model.
- Coordinate with police and other services through embedded response work.
- Facilitate community education and stakeholder engagement in the region.
- Maintain accurate client records, reports, and data entries.
- Provide occasional leave relief across Cairns, Atherton, Mossman, and court settings.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, and have experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic context.
