Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Specialist to join our team in the Rockhampton region. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing services available to students.

Job Description

The Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Specialist will be responsible for providing individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents, and families. This includes:

  • Undertaking assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social, and adaptive functioning;
  • Providing advice on diagnoses provided by external professionals and monitoring students' progress;
  • Administering psycho-educational assessments and developing support plans;
  • Coordinating and implementing professional development programs for teachers, parents, and other professionals.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A degree in psychology or a related field;
  • Provisional or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Experience working with students and families in a mental health context.

Applicants should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
