The Opportunity

We are seeking an Engineering Geologist to join our team as part of our accomplished geotechnical section.

You will work alongside established geotechnical technical experts, assisting in delivering successful projects.

As a Geologist, you will be involved in various projects across different sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis on the behavior and mechanics of soil and rock when placed under pressure by proposed structures.
  • Investigate geological formations and ground behavior, conducting scientific investigations and testing to understand their impact on project design and construction.
  • Conduct studies of the earth's crust to inform geotechnical design.
  • Perform fieldwork activities including site investigations, soil logging and sampling.
  • Study the effects of natural events such as erosion, sedimentation, earthquakes and ground instability on engineering project sites.
  • Manage and carry out geological reporting for projects.
  • Provide leadership and identify high priority hazards.
  • Prepare proposals and reports for clients.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in Geology or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years' experience performing a similar role.
  • Willingness to travel and work on remote sites.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of independent work and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Valid manual driver's license.
