Geotechnical and Geological Expert

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Geotechnical and Geological Expert to join our organization in Adelaide, AU. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geology and engineering, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive surveys and analyses of geological formations and ground behavior to inform geotechnical and civil engineering design.
  • Investigate the structure, nature, and formation of the earth's crust to develop effective solutions for geotechnical and tunnel project design and construction.
  • Perform site investigations, including soil logging, sampling, and other fieldwork activities to understand the impact of geological factors on engineering projects.
  • Manage all aspects of field observations and site investigations for small to large-scale engineering projects, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Carry out geological and geotechnical reporting, analyzing data, and managing projects to meet client expectations.
  • Provide leadership in identifying and mitigating high-priority safety hazards, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Prepare proposals and technical reports for clients, communicating complex ideas effectively.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in Geology or Engineering Geology, or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years' experience performing a similar role, with a proven track record of independent work and collaboration within a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work on remote sites when required, with a valid manual driver's license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with well-developed interpersonal skills.
