About the role

The Business Development Strategist will be responsible for building a strategic plan to gain market share in the local area. This involves utilising business development skills to build long-term connections with local community groups, stakeholders, and partners to drive business opportunities. The primary focus is on customer acquisition and establishing quality referral partner relationships. Prospecting and networking skills are crucial to ensure continued growth.

This position is located in Newcastle and is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

About you

  • You should have highly developed lending knowledge and credit analysis skills.
  • A strong understanding of business development capability and proven community networking skills.
  • Established quality referrals and networks would be advantageous but not essential.
  • An understanding of financial management, business acumen, and risk framework is also required.
  • You must be able to exceed customer expectations through an understanding of their individual financial needs.
  • A drive to acquire a diverse customer base and meet business targets.
  • An organised approach to managing volumes of work with initiative and attention to detail.
  • You should be self-driven with the ability to work autonomously.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to assess customer needs and tailor practical lending solutions.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum based on location and experience.
