Data Center Operation Specialist

We're building the world's largest Cloud infrastructure and we need your help. Our team is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our data centers, ensuring the highest levels of availability, reliability, and security.

As a Data Center Operation Specialist, you'll be part of a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently
  • Escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all systems and problems
  • Deep dive into Linux server issues
  • XEN service virtualization troubleshooting

Required Skills:

  • Troubleshooting technical issues on various platforms ranging from Systems through to Power/Mechanical
  • Remediation of physical layer outages, both Systems & Network
  • Remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks
  • Participation in Data centre power & cooling events

Operations and Project Management:

  • Meet 24x7 On-Call requirements and response during shift rotations
  • Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs
  • Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region
  • Data centre point of contact for all High Severity issues
  • Physical replacement of server and network device parts
  • Ensure correct rotation of parts and spares
  • Contribute to metrics to increase customer uptime
  • Enforce Security Best Practices
  • Interact with third-party vendors and contractors
  • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency

About You:

  • Participate in and deliver on high-impact small to mid-scale projects
  • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates
