Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Officer to join our team at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital. This is a casual opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for patient admissions and discharges, data entry using IPM software, consulting rooms administration support, general reception and switchboard duties, health fund eligibility checks, scanning, photocopying, collation, and preparation of case notes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Admissions and Discharges: Coordinate patient arrivals and departures, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of patient information.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter patient data into IPM software, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Consulting Rooms Administration Support: Provide administrative assistance to medical staff, including preparing and maintaining patient records, and coordinating appointments.
  • Reception and Switchboard Duties: Greet patients and visitors, handle phone calls and respond to queries in a professional manner.
  • Health Fund Eligibility Checks: Verify patient health fund eligibility, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims.
  • Scanning, Photocopying, Collation, and Preparation of Case Notes: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, preparing case notes and other documents as required.
Requirements
  • Previous Administrative Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Medical Terminology Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology and concepts.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when entering data and performing tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and external agencies.
  • Autonomy and Teamwork: Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with ability to learn new systems and software quickly.

Estimated Salary

A competitive estimated annual salary of $60,000 - $70,000, depending on experience, plus superannuation and benefits.
