Job Description

TBWA is seeking a talented Connections Strategist who embodies disruptive thinking and has a solid foundation in connections strategy, confident in writing comms plans, collaborating with media agencies, and working in digital and social.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who wants to bring innovative ideas into all kinds of spaces and places, exploring brand and creative strategy. Australian citizenship is required due to the nature of this role working with a government client.

The Task at Hand

  • Bring to life consumer insights and behaviours by visualising consumer journey maps
  • Provide insights and initiative in connecting with consumers throughout the journey
  • Build insightful connections strategies and bring fresh connections thinking to creative strategy and teams
  • Research and Data: Apply understanding of first-party data and audience segmentation for data briefs, contact strategies, and message matrices
  • Interpret and visualise data in a meaningful way to colleagues and for presentation
  • Social and Digital Expertise: Excellent understanding of the evolving social and digital comms and media landscape, including opportunities across social media, Meta, Google platforms, TikTok, AI, gaming, etc.
  • Brand Strategy Development: Support the development of disruptive brand and campaign strategies to drive business growth and cultural impact
  • Cultural Insights: Stay ahead of cultural trends and consumer behaviours, identifying opportunities to create culturally relevant and impactful campaigns
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry discussions and publications, positioning TBWA as a leader in innovation and creativity

  • Keen awareness of cultural trends and their impact on consumer behaviour
  • Good understanding of paid, owned, and earned channels, including social, search, programmatic, partnerships, SEO, and traditional channels

A nice person with a love for great ideas and advertising, 1-2 years' experience in a similar role within a creative or media agency.
