Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, providing support that enables them to live independently and with dignity.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and preferences, developing personalized support plans, and implementing strategies to promote their independence and well-being. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, reporting progress, and communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities, focusing on their strengths and goals
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans to enhance clients' independence and quality of life
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordination
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records, adhering to organizational policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in disability support or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, as required
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a focus on finding solutions that benefit clients
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance (or willingness to obtain)
