
Medical Educator in Critical Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Education Fellow to join our team in the Division of Critical Care Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting clinical teaching and learning activities for Macquarie Medical School students undertaking their placements in Critical and Acute Care at Northern Beaches Hospital.
The successful candidate will deliver teaching sessions, coordinate student assessment requirements, and provide pastoral care as needed. Additionally, they will contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives, including the periodic review and enhancement of clinical experiences delivered at Northern Beaches Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the provision of clinical experiences in Critical Care Medicine for fourth-year medical students
- Develop and participate in a regular structured teaching program and assessments for medical students in Critical Care Medicine
- Provide responsive pastoral care and support to students on placement at the Northern Beaches Clinical School
- Provide mentorship and support the development of Junior Medical staff involved in clinical teaching and learning
- Attend regular clinical school meetings
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
A relevant qualification in medicine or a related field is essential, as is experience working in a clinical education setting. Familiarity with educational programs and curriculum design would also be an advantage.

Clinical duties will occur at Northern Beaches Hospital, while education and assessment of medical students will primarily take place at the Clinical School site and within the hospital's educational precinct.
