Job Description

As a precision agriculture specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting farm teams to develop and implement precision agriculture strategies that increase cost-effective productivity and sustainability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing farm-level PA plans, overseeing data collection from farms, and liaising with third-party data processing services. They will also facilitate discussions around the use of PA data at both the farm and group level, and support farm teams to utilize PA data when making decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement farm-level PA strategies to increase cost-effective productivity and sustainability.
  • Oversee data collection from farms and liaise with third-party data processing services.

  • Support farm teams to utilize PA data when making decisions.
  • Assist the business analytics team with data insights on farm performance and advise on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Aid with continually improving processes surrounding data collection from the paddack.
  • Provide recommendations on the adoption of new technology, including supporting data and financial analysis where appropriate.
  • Lead a strong, collaborative working relationship with the PA manager and work closely together to deliver a consistent approach to PA across all farms in Warakirri Cropping.
  • Mentor and support employees in relation to PA and technology.
  • Maintain a positive culture towards the adoption of new technologies and systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking an individual with relevant qualifications and experience in precision agriculture, agronomy, farm management, machinery software systems, and/or agricultural science. Experience with precision ag and precision ag computer systems is preferred but not essential. You should be competent in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and possess sound stakeholder management, influence, facilitation, and communication skills.
