Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

The role of a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist is to deliver exceptional customer service while managing and maintaining our customers' cloud environments and providing support and mentoring to Cloud Support Engineers and Technicians within the Cloud Support team.

  • Managing customer clouds - monitoring, reporting, and maintaining cloud infrastructures as required
  • Provide 3rd level technical cloud infrastructure support
  • Identify risks as part of on-boarding activities around cloud technical solutions and provide recommendations for improvements and enhancements to customers
  • Communicate effectively with the service delivery function and senior management
  • Leverage toolsets to create and maintain regular reporting on cloud environments, including incident management, service requests, performance metrics, and capacity planning
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for customer environments
  • Perform proper root cause analysis and fixes to drive down the re-occurrence of similar incidents
  • Perform maintenance, advance troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of cloud issues as and when required
  • Mentor and coach other Level 2, Level 3 and IT Operations Team members in developing appropriate cloud skills
  • To provide after hours on-call assistance and/or escalation on a rotating basis

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you would possess key skills & experience as below:

  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in an IT Infrastructure Support role, preferably including experience in a Managed Services Environment
  • Minimum 3 years' experience specializing in cloud products and services
  • Experience in providing technical advice required for the improvement of cloud Platform configurations
  • Hands on experience in designing, building and implementing Microsoft solutions based around cloud
  • Certified in MS Azure Architect Solutions Architect Expert
  • Experience managing cloud environments for large to enterprise customers
  • Hands on experience in designing, building and implementing Microsoft solutions based around cloud
  • Knowledge and understanding of foundational active directory, security, and networking principles
  • Guide monitoring and management infrastructure for both availability and performance management
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of following technologies in cloud;
  • VM Instance Management
  • Storage Management
  • Backup & Site Recovery Management
  • Identity and Access Management (Azure AD / ADFS / AAD Connect)
  • Subscription, Security Centre & Cost Management
  • Windows Virtual Desktops (WVD) Service and Image Management
  • FSLogix Profile Management
  • Azure Virtual Networks, Express Routes, Load Balancers, NSG
  • Key Vault Management
  • Application Gateway and Web Application Firewalls
  • Azure Web Apps Management
  • Azure SQL PAAS Management
  • Azure Automation / Runbook Management
