Mental Health Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Youth Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Orygen Specialist Program. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive clinical acute mental health care to young people and their families, utilizing a recovery-focused approach.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health, with experience working with young people and their families. You will be able to demonstrate advanced skills in mental health assessment, risk assessment, therapeutic interventions, and least restrictive practices. Additionally, you will have the ability to provide leadership and supervision to junior staff members.
About the ProgramOrygen @ Home is an acute service providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness within the home environment. Our team delivers individually tailored services that comprise of assessment, key clinician responsibilities, intensive outreach, core skills, and crises interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with young people and their families to provide inpatient-like care within the home environment.
- Provide leadership and discipline-specific interventions and recovery-focused care in the home.
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans that promote the recovery and well-being of young people and their families.
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the program's goals and objectives.
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RPN3) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in clinical practice as a mental health clinician, preferably working with young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and receive supervision and support through professional development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people, families, and colleagues.
- Capacity to work flexibly, including after-hours shifts and weekend work, as required.
