About the Role

The City of Cockburn is seeking a seasoned Senior Procurement Specialist to spearhead its procurement function. This pivotal role involves fostering relationships with all levels of the organisation, driving value-focused outcomes, and ensuring streamlined procurement and contract processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement function, influencing key stakeholders and driving value-focused outcomes.
  • Support strategic procurement objectives and ensure high levels of compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in purchasing and contract management.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the organisation, collaborating with the Strategic Procurement Manager to educate and engage the procurement network.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in complex procurement environments, preferably from a government background, with tertiary or postgraduate qualifications.
  • Extensive experience partnering with diverse stakeholders at senior levels, building partnerships, relations, and driving change.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory and legal requirements in contract authoring and administration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tender processes, including leading evaluation panels in complex tenders.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, capacity to implement system changes, and produce informative reports.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare procurement and technical documents.
