Assurance Reviews

Assurance Reviews are concise, intensive evaluations conducted by a team of independent reviewers at crucial stages of a project's or program's lifecycle. These reviews deliver an impartial assessment of the project/program against its defined objectives and facilitate the early identification of areas needing corrective measures. It is important to clarify that the advertised positions do not entail performing the duties of an Assurance Reviewer.

The Assurance Reviews Unit is responsible for the commissioning and coordination of Cabinet-mandated Assurance Reviews, including Gateway Reviews and Implementation Readiness Assessments. These reviews are designed to enhance the oversight and governance of major projects and programs, assisting Commonwealth agencies in achieving successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Oversee the daily coordination of Assurance Reviews by collaborating closely with Commonwealth agencies to provide guidance, advice, and administrative support leading up to each review.
  • Manage multiple concurrent reviews, engage independent review teams through established procurement processes, arrange travel for reviewers, prepare meeting agendas, and maintain the team's database.
  • Interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, both within and outside the government.
