Hatch is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. As a key member of our Earth Sciences and Engineering (ESE) group, you will be responsible for leading the execution of various ongoing projects in the hydrotechnical field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the growth of our water business by participating in pursuits and proposals.
  • Work directly with senior engineers and technical teams to lead the execution of various ongoing projects.
  • Manage projects with direct communication with clients, subconsultants, and contractors.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a continuous learning environment.
  • Participate in hydrotechnical-related project work, including consulting assignments, management, and peer review.

Requirements

  • A degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in multi-discipline hydrotechnical projects.
  • Advanced understanding of key principles of infrastructure and energy, including dam safety, flood risk management, and tailings storage facilities operations.
  • Experience in water balance, hydrology, and flood modeling related software is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in GIS skills using ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Applicants with CPEng and RPEQ/RPEV will be well regarded.
