About the Role


As a Survey Assistant with Queensland Rail, you will play a vital role in supporting our Qualified Surveyors undertake survey work within track & civil. Your primary responsibility will be to provide quality, safe and customer-focused engineering solutions across our rail network.



Job Description

  • Carry out accurate measuring, data recording and ground marking tasks under the direction of the Senior Surveyors/Engineering Surveyors.
  • Prepare for workday activities by restocking and general maintenance of field equipment and survey vehicles.
  • Ensure workspace and workshop cleanliness.
  • Perform Protection Officer duties on site to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to health, safety and environmental requirements.


About You


We are looking for an individual with a construction/rail or project construction background performing similar Assistant Surveying tasks. Rail Protection Officer (PO) knowledge/qualification would be advantageous but not required at this time. Sound level of maintenance and minor repair of equipment is also essential.



Key Responsibilities

  2. Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  3. Collaborate with the survey team to deliver high-quality results and meet project deadlines.
  4. Maintain accurate records of site activities and survey data.
  5. Operate survey equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks as required.
  6. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Queensland Rail's policies and procedures.


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar Assistant Surveying role.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to undergo training and development opportunities.

Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.



Location


This role is based in Brisbane, Queensland, with occasional travel to regional sites.
