Electrical Infrastructure Manager Job Overview

The Electrical Infrastructure Manager will lead the design of complex infrastructure projects, focusing on secondary protection and control systems in the power, transmission, and distribution sectors. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee transformative, large-scale projects.

  • Manage the design process for complex infrastructure projects, including coordinating design teams focused on secondary protection and control systems.
  • Provide overall direction to design teams working on protection schemes, control systems, relays, panels, wiring diagrams, and associated high-voltage secondary systems.
  • Act as the main liaison with clients, managing expectations and ensuring alignment on secondary design requirements and project deliverables.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, setting clear objectives and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve project milestones.
  • Develop and review protection and control design drawings, schematics, and technical documentation for substation secondary systems.
  • Provide expert oversight on protection and control design aspects.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and design team members, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Experience managing the design process for large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, including coordinating design teams focused on secondary protection and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience in secondary design and problem-solving is necessary, particularly in addressing critical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Proven expertise in industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to secondary substation design.
  • Success in managing client relationships and aligning technical deliverables with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Strong design management skills, with experience guiding diverse engineering teams to achieve complex project goals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to developing effective and compliant design solutions.
