Job Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to assume responsibility for the design and development of substation projects.

As a senior electrical engineer, you will be tasked with collaborating closely with our team to share your expertise and contribute to the growth and success of our Energy Hubs (Substation) division.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Sydney-based project office and take on key responsibilities in the development of high-voltage electrical infrastructure.

  • Lead the design of substations for the Central West Orana ACJV project
  • Ensure compliance with relevant National / International Standards and contract specifications
  • Optimize designs considering constraints and develop different solutions as part of the design optimisation process
  • Coordinate interference checker and ensure clash-free design
  • Prepare substation design calculations including earthing design, busbar sizing, SC force calculations, lightning protection, etc.
  • Define primary design subsystems and bills of material to accurately cost the design
  • Ensure safe and compliant designs that adhere to electrical clearances and provide necessary provision for maintenance
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in outdoor and indoor substations, preferably 330kV or higher
  • Good knowledge of latest local standards & IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards
  • Proficient with various software tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.
