Hybrid Underwriting Role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in underwriting, working for a leading organization that promotes from within. As an underwriter, you will have the chance to build strong foundations in the Construction/Property Liability space and progress to more senior roles.

The ideal candidate will possess general insurance or broking office experience and excellent communication skills. You will be working with both internal teams and brokers, so strong time management and self-motivation are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the underwriting team
  • Reviewing scheme new business and scheme renewals
  • Preparing and/or underwriting endorsements and extensions
  • Assisting with incoming calls and answering general queries
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with intermediaries
  • Responding to broker enquiries
  • Assisting in the underwriting of profitable business in line with the company's delegated authority and risk appetite
  • Dealing with offshore teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working within general insurance or brokerage firms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and can-do attitude
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Desire to develop and grow underwriting career
