The Department for Energy and Mining is seeking a leader to join its Regulatory Risk and Resource Tenure Branch as General Manager, Energy Resources Licensing.

This role offers a rare opportunity to influence the strategic direction of upstream energy regulation and land access frameworks critical to the state's energy transition and economic development.

We are looking for someone with strong leadership capability, who can bring expertise in regulatory, compliance or legal services, preferably within government or the energy/resources sector.

  • We require proven leadership experience in regulatory, compliance or legal services.
  • Expertise in upstream energy resource legislation is essential, particularly in areas such as licensing and land access.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to influence across government and industry is crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work confidently in complex, politically sensitive, and evolving environments.
