Job Overview

This role is a vital part of our efforts to improve access to healthcare for Aboriginal people with substance dependence needs. As an Senior Aboriginal Clinician, you will play a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships between Justice Health NSW custodial and community drug and alcohol services, other key services, and the Aboriginal communities they serve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the health sector, including non-government organizations, primary care providers, social support services, justice agencies, and mental health services.
  • Culturally appropriate care: Work closely with Aboriginal patients, families, and communities to ensure that their healthcare needs are met in a way that respects their values and traditions.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategies to improve access to healthcare for Aboriginal people with substance dependence needs.
Requirements:
  • You must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Experience working in Aboriginal health or a related field is essential.
  • You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You should be able to work effectively in a team environment.
