About North East Link
The North East Link Project is a major infrastructure project in Victoria, Australia, that aims to improve road connectivity and reduce congestion in the north-east region. The project involves the construction of twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team and support the delivery of the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety processes, conducting health and safety audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety processes and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
- Provide specialist advice on safety management systems and contractor agreements.
- Monitor and report on safety performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Requirements
- Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a safety role in high-risk construction.
- Previous experience working with a tier 1 or 2 contractor in tunneling and/or mining is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience of workplace and contractor safety management processes within complex environments.
- Well-developed understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting or leading incident investigations and developing reports and corrective actions.
