The role of a Clinical Nurse Consultant plays a pivotal part in delivering expert clinical guidance and consultation to patients with ostomies, continence issues, and trial of void strategies.
- Leads the operational management of Stomal therapy and Continence referrals.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Educates healthcare professionals and patients on best practices in ostomy care, continence management, and skin integrity.
- Utilizes high clinical knowledge and judgment to ensure delivery of holistic care to inpatients.
- Manages nurse-led clinics for Stomal Therapy Outpatient and Trial of Void Clinics.
- Participates in quality improvement projects related to continence and ostomy care.
About You:
- You hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the relevant Australian health authority.
- Have at least 5 years full-time post-registration experience with approved nursing qualifications relevant to Stomal Therapy/Continence Nursing or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership ability working in a multidisciplinary team with comprehensive understanding of clinical governance.
- Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in your daily practice.
- Demonstrated effective time management and prioritization skills within a complex environment.
