Legal Expertise Needed

We are seeking two experienced Legal Experts on a contract basis to join our in-house legal team.

The successful candidates will have 8-25+ years' experience and expertise in regulatory and compliance matters, with a strong background in energy retail regulation or similar consumer-facing regulatory environments.

You will work closely with a collaborative and supportive team, acting as the primary legal contact for customer business units on retail regulatory matters.

  • Providing strategic advice and managing complex legal and compliance scenarios
  • Supporting litigation and enforcement matters
  • Overseeing external counsel and resource allocation
  • Leading legal process improvements and developing training tools for internal teams

The ideal candidates will be available to work on-site or under a hybrid working arrangement, with flexible working options also considered. Experience and ability to deliver on the brief will influence hourly rates.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Advice: Provide expert legal guidance and manage complex regulatory and compliance issues
  2. Litigation Support: Assist with enforcement matters and ensure prompt resolution
  3. Counsel Management: Oversee external legal services and optimize resource allocation
  4. Process Improvement: Develop and implement efficient legal processes and training materials
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of PAE in regulatory and compliance
  • Proven experience in energy retail regulation or similar consumer-facing environments
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
